VPN Guard

A WireGuard client, and nothing else.

VPN Guard connects your iPhone using a WireGuard configuration you already have. It ships the tunnel engine and stops there.

What it is

VPN Guard is client software for the WireGuard protocol. You import a configuration file — from a provider you pay for, from a server you run, or from your own router — and the app brings the tunnel up. Your traffic travels between your device and the server named in that configuration. The developer of VPN Guard operates no part of that path.

What it is not

It is worth being blunt about this, because most apps in this category are the opposite:

Where a configuration comes from

A WireGuard configuration is a short text file that names a server and holds the keys for reaching it. VPN Guard reads one; it never creates one for you. If you do not have one yet, the explainer describes the kinds of places one comes from — it names no provider and recommends none.

Where to get a configuration

Privacy

VPN Guard collects no personal data. Configurations stay on your device, private keys are held in the device keychain, and the App Store privacy label for this app reads Data Not Collected.
